2019 Review

2019 Year in Review...

Hey Friends! J & V here! It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up the year (again) already! 2019 has flown by quicker than any other year ever has! I know we say this every year, but 2019 has been our best year yet! Our word for this year was “Connect” and we certainly have done just that. We truly feel deeply connected to each and every one of you who grace us with your presence day in and day out.

We absolutely cherish the ability to grow our relationship with the community. We have the greatest team here at Between Friends. V2, Koy, and Allan are still hanging around this year with us and we welcomed Gabby to our family and brought back Hope! We cannot imagine our life without them!

Our shop has been full of love and laughter all year long! We have experienced everything from blind dates, anniversaries, birthday parties, fundraisers, holiday parties, book signings, painting nights where we partnered with other local small businesses, local school outreaches, reunions, corporate events, trivia nights, themed events, the Grinch, etc!

We have connected with many of our favorite featured authors on social media throughout the years (shout out Glennon Doyle, Bob Goff, Somtow, Immaculee, etc) and we are so excited to announce that we will be actually meeting Bob Goff in the spring of 2020. We just know he is going to love the drink flavor (cheesecake) we have named in his honor!

So many different people have walked through our doors this year. We believe that every single person has a story and we have truly treasured getting to know so many of them this year. Love is such an underwhelming word for what we feel for all of you dear friends- connecting with you all over coffee (and cinnamon rolls) is truly a treat for us.

2019 was also another year full of adventure! We continued to tour some amazing shops across Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. Our menu has also grown by leaps and bounds again this year! We enjoy creating new and interesting works of art in each cup! We only offer Direct Trade organic coffee beans that are never frozen, freshly and locally roasted, and ground each day. (Thank you Radio Roasters for blowing our minds! We use a high quality bean directly from the farms of Africa, Central America, and South America.) We have over 2 million different drink (coffee & non-coffee) options for you all to choose from. We added Oat milk to our list of dairy alternatives this year and look forward to adding even more in the coming months. While we are proud of our menu items, we want all of you to know that to us you are more than just a cup of coffee; you are our friend with a purpose. Our world is truly better with you in it!

We feel like 2019 has been the year for us to continue to become who we have always dreamed of becoming! Most small businesses fail after their first year or two, but because of you, Friend, we are thriving! Between Friends is happy to be your only locally and 100% woman owned Coffeeshop in Warner Robins. This year we hit even more milestones! We celebrated our three year anniversary on August 1st! We won “Best of the Best Coffeeshop” and “Best Wait Staff” for the third year in a row! We also hosted the third annual Indie Book Fest in Middle Georgia this fall for our biggest crowd yet.

This year we continued the outreach of It Takes A Village, a non-profit organization that helps meet needs in our community and create connections with those who strive to make a difference. Our projects this year included a book donation drive for a local children’s hospital, a canned food drive to benefit our local community, and a continuous Blessing Box outside our doors sponsored by Moms Club of Warner Robins. We believe in the Mother Teresa quote “we belong to each other” and we are privileged to be the boots on the ground for projects such as these. We look forward to sharing our new projects for 2020 with all of you soon!

Our word for the coming year is “Intentional.” We want to be purposeful in all that we do! We have set high goals both personally and professionally for 2020 and we look forward to meeting them with all of you! Here’s to many more years full of coffee beans, cinnamon rolls, scones, favorite authors, laughter, and love.

Thank you for being our Friend,

Jaimie, Victoria, Allan, V2, Koy, Hope, & Gabby
